Having experienced the warmth and joy of Blacknall's nursery programs as a new mom, Leslie was delighted to join the Blacknall staff to oversee the Nursery and Preschool Ministries. She passionately believes that the Blacknall community is a unique gift for new parents and those with young kids, and enjoys finding new ways to ensure that families in this stage of life feel supported, loved, and known.
Leslie is a North Carolina native - raised in Winston-Salem, a UNC-Chapel Hill alumnus, and attended Blacknall post-college until 2006. It was then that she married Jason, a native Texan, and gladly sang the Dixie Chicks chorus of "Cowboy, take me away!" They lived in Texas and Chattanooga, Tennessee before moving back to North Carolina in 2014. Jason and Leslie have two young children, Wyatt and Evelyn Kate, and find that raising two kids that are thirteen months apart is equal parts hilarious and exhausting! In whatever free time she can find, Leslie loves creating things whether that's making a quilt, nesting and decorating at home or work, or creating order out of chaos. She would also gladly hop a flight to NYC to see a Broadway show at any given moment and unabashedly (dare we say, dramatically?) sings aloud while driving.
