About Blacknall’s Youth Ministry

Blacknall has an active middle and high school ministry with a place for all students. The heart of the ministry is the relationship formed between students and their leaders. Come check it out! In addition to Sunday School and Sunday evening youth group, we also host annual retreats and mission trips over the summer. (Visit our Children’s Ministry page to see what we offer to kids younger than 6th grade.)

New to Blacknall?

We offer Sunday School classes to our youth in between church services from 10 - 10:45 a.m. The specific content of the class varies depending on your child’s age. Additionally, we offer more socially-oriented Youth Group meetings throughout the academic year. Regular Youth Group meetings stop during the summer as the Youth Ministry shifts its focus towards providing opportunities for kids to embark on summer retreats that emphasize fellowship and the Gospel while away from home.

Sunday School

For Middle and High School Sunday School, children are divided into two groups by age and study the Bible in ways that are appropriate for their age. For Middle Schoolers, this includes a time for fellowship, bible study, and discussion. High Schoolers do similar activities, but additionally engage in prayer sessions in their meeting time. For current Sunday School locations and curriculums, visit our Sunday School page.

Youth Group

Throughout the academic year, Middle and High School Youth Group meets on Sunday evenings. Youth Group events typically start with social activities and games, giving youth and leaders a chance to fellowship with each other. Following this, there’s usually a discussion of scripture and time to break into small groups designated by grade. Food is usually provided for both Youth Group and Sunday School, but please contact a Youth leader if your child has any dietary restrictions.

Safety

All full-time staff and volunteers working in Blacknall’s Middle and High School ministries have received background checks, and have completed child abuse prevention trainings as well. All rooms used for Youth Ministry activities have windows, and at least two adult leaders will always be present in rooms with children. No leader will ever be alone in a private space with a child. For more information, see Blacknall’s full abuse prevention policy.
