Welcome to Blacknall!

We’re glad you’re here

Our ties to Durham go back to 1916. We look forward to having you be a part of what we continue to build to glorify God and strengthen our connections with each other.

Whether you’re exploring God and faith for the first time, seeking to deepen your Christian walk, or returning to church after some time away, Blacknall has a place for you.

Worship with us Sunday mornings at 8:30 or 11 a.m., or view our livestream. You can contact us with any questions.

What to Expect at Blacknall

A Warm Welcome

When you arrive at Blacknall, you’ll be greeted by volunteer members of our congregation to welcome you with a smile. Feel free to ask any questions!

Our Sunday Schedule

Our services typically average 70 to 75 minutes in length and include worship music throughout, a moment of confession, scripture readings, a children’s blessing, a sermon, and prayers for our people and community. Learn more about our Sunday rhythms.

Our Approach to Teaching Scripture

We draw from a variety of Christian traditions and use artistic expression to help our congregation worship with the whole of our hearts, minds, and bodies. At the center of it all is a shared worship of Christ and shared ministry of the Word.

Who We Are

We are a member church of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). When you join us on Sundays, you’ll hear us share the mission that drives what we do at Blacknall: We are called to glorify the Triune God, to make known the crucified and risen Christ, and to advance the Kingdom that God is building in us, in Durham, and around the world. Learn more about who we are and what’s shaped Blacknall’s history.
