Deepen your connections as part of Blacknall’s family.
The journey of a Christian was never meant to be solo. While Sunday mornings are vital for our corporate worship, our small groups create intimate spaces where Scripture comes to life among 8 - 12 people. In faith and friendship, these small, intentional communities meet in homes across Durham and Chapel Hill to share meals, study the Word, pray, and bear one another's burdens. Weekly meetups take place at different locations on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings.
Why Join a Small Group?
Spiritual Formation
Growth happens best in relationships. Whether we study a book of the Bible or discuss a recent Sunday sermon, small groups allow us to better know the Gospel and discover ways to apply Christ’s lessons to our joys, struggles, and all the moments between.
Radical Hospitality
Our groups are located in the neighborhoods where we live all across Durham. Our hope is to help you join a group that fits your weekly schedule. You’ll find acceptance, support, and community. All are welcome.
Generational Connections
We value the wisdom of those who have walked with Christ for decades and the fresh perspective of those just starting out. Some groups are geared toward young adults, others are intentionally intergenerational, and we even offer spaces that include childcare.
"It helps me feel comfortable opening up and knowing that people accept me, listen, and don’t judge. We realize we have the same struggles and need advice from one another. It gives me the courage to share more about myself."
What to Expect
Our small groups offer a place to journey through life together, to be known, and to grow as disciples of Jesus Christ. Every group has its own personality, but most follow a simple, life-giving rhythm that focuses on scripture and prayer. Along with taking time to reflect on a recent sermon, groups will dive into God's Word and pray for one another.

"Church is one of those rare places where you can be unified across differences — and different ages. God can use that in really beautiful ways."
