Blacknall Counseling Ministry

Spiritual health and growth are intimately tied to emotional and psychological health. Whether you are experiencing depression or deep anger, battling an addiction, grieving a loss, struggling in a relationship, dealing with the aftermath of an emotional wound, concerned about a family member, or dealing with any other emotional or psychological issue, seeking pastoral care and/or professional counseling can be an important step on the path to healing.

Our Counseling Ministry offers help both by providing pastoral care and by helping you make connections with professional counselors. It is available to Blacknall members, regular attenders, and friends of our congregation.

Pastoral Care

Our pastoral team – Pastors, a Parish Associate, and Director of Congregational Care – are available to offer guidance and support in navigating spiritual, emotional, or relational challenges. Their care is grounded in compassionate listening, Biblical wisdom, and prayer. If you need to speak with someone for counseling and guidance, please email any of them directly or email the church office to request a pastoral care appointment.

Professional Counseling

If you would like to establish a relationship with a licensed mental health professional, we can help. We recognize that two common obstacles to getting professional help are a counselor’s availability and the ability to pay for therapy, so:

  • We’ll provide you with contact information for local therapists or counselors who are currently accepting new patients.

  • We’ll provide some measure of financial assistance for a set number of sessions that will be determined in consultation with a therapist.

  • If desired, we’ll connect you immediately with a Blacknall member who works in counseling and can provide an “emergency” consultation.

We know every situation is different and we want to be responsive to your needs. We welcome the opportunity to work with you to help make professional counseling a viable option. If you’re interested in receiving help, complete this form and the Director of Congregational Care will be in touch with you.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. All communications with Blacknall staff are confidential, and all communications with a therapist will be confidential under therapist/client protocols and will not be disclosed to any Blacknall staff.
