Alpha at Blacknall,
Launching January 20, 2026
We’re excited to launch Alpha, a program that walks through core aspects of the Christian faith for people across the spectrum of belief.
Started in the UK in the late 1970s, Alpha sessions bring together curious people to share a meal, ask honest questions, and talk openly about life and faith in a safe, welcoming space. There’s no pressure and no preaching — just real conversations and room for the Holy Spirit to move.
Our first session will be in the Fellowship Hall at Blacknall Church on January 20th. We will continue to meet weekly on Tuesdays for 11 weeks, including a Saturday day-retreat in early March. If you are curious but not sure you can commit to the entire 11 weeks, we get it. We would love for you to still sign up, and we would be happy to have you for any leg of the journey. All of the meals, childcare, and hospitality are completely free.
You can find the Alpha Participant Form below; it will be open for registration through January 18th. If you are interested in volunteering with Alpha, continue to scroll down and fill out the Alpha Volunteer Form!

Absolutely and definitively not. Alpha is a space for people of all (or no) faiths to come together to talk about the big questions of life. The Alpha film series does come from a Christian perspective, and we are meeting at a church. But we hope you will join us even if you feel quite unsure about Christianity, the church, or the existence of God at all. We want you to be able to be open and honest about how you are coming into this.

The video series covers such questions as “Is there more to life than this?”, “How can I have faith?”, “Why and how do I pray?”, and “How can I make the most of the rest of my life?” We will go deep into these questions, but there will be time for laughter and friendship along the way.
-
Come anyway. It will be great to have you for any length of time. If you’re skeptical and just want to dip your toe in, come to the first one. If you like it, you may choose to come back.
