Find your people and deepen your purpose.

Durham can be a city of transitions. Whether you’re navigating a degree program, early in your career, or trying to figure out what it looks like to follow Jesus as an adult, you don't have to do it alone. At Blacknall, our Young Adult Fellowship is a community for undergrad and graduate students, young professionals, and young parents seeking to be rooted in the Gospel amidst the beautiful (and sometimes exhausting) pace of life in the Triangle. We invite you to find a home for deep connection and spiritual formation with us.

Sunday Rhythms

Outside of Blacknall’s 8:30 or 11 a.m. services, we take time to catch up and encourage each other in God’s Word. Whether that’s having a coffee in the Upper Atrium, hanging out at The Well, or enjoying a warm morning outside, join us to share the latest in your life. We also have a weekly Sunday School class for young adults.

Young Adult Fellowship (Sunday School)

Our primary gathering place. We move beyond "easy answers" to engage with Scripture and theology in a way that speaks to our current stage of life.

  • When: Sundays at 10 a.m.

  • Where: The Parlor (first floor by our staff mailboxes)

  • What we study: We’ll shift our focus every season. Our discussions might focus on a specific book of the Bible (1 Samuel, James, Ephesians) or bigger questions found in a book like the Heidelberg Catechism. We’ve even spent time exploring ideas around Christian decision-making and hospitality.

Life Together Beyond Sundays

Join a Small Group

For those looking for deeper roots, our small groups meet throughout the week in homes across Durham. These are spaces to, study the Word, and pray for one another. We have groups made up solely of young adults as well as intergenerational groups if you’d like to connect with a range of people from our congregation.

Let’s Hang Out

Post-work meals, game nights, and seasonal parties are just a few ways we find time to be together. We host at least one hangout a month that’s low-pressure and meant to offer space where you can come, bring a friend, and make new ones, too.

Stay in Touch

Because our events often move between homes and places throughout Durham, the best way to stay updated is through our weekly newsletter and digital community.

  • Weekly Newsletter: Get the latest on what we’re studying, where we’re getting together, and how you can get involved. Sign up in Church Center.

  • Discord group: We share updates, spontaneous invites, opportunities to help each other, and more! Join here.

New to Durham? Let’s meet.

Sometimes it can feel weird to walk into a new church, whether you’ve been going your whole life or you’re full of questions. We’d love to welcome you. Reach out to Lydia Harrison or Caleb Rolling  — they’re usually around on Sunday mornings and would love to invite you to join for a group lunch or find time to grab coffee during the week. You can also check out more info about who we are and what to expect at Blacknall.
