All are invited to join a summer book club to read the Pulitzer Prize-winning “There Is No Place for Us: Working and Homeless in America” by Brian Goldstone. The nonfiction book chronicles the lives of five Atlanta families struggling to remain housed in a gentrifying, increasingly unequal city.
The book club is a great opportunity to read and discuss the book in depth ahead of a special event with Brian on Friday, Aug. 14, at Blacknall. Teens to adults are all welcome, from high schoolers on up.
The group will meet on Wednesdays, Aug. 5 and 12, from 6:30 - 8 p.m. in the Parlor to discuss the book's themes, ideas, and calls to action. You can find copies at Durham libraries, online, and local bookstores.
Register on Church Center to help us track the number of people who will join! Email Jack Bell with questions.
