Ministry Partners Highlight Christ’s Work in Congo

The Kasalis — Noé (left) and Bethany (right) — spent time with youth during Blacknall’s Camp Discover to share about their ministry work.

Thanks to Noé and Bethany Kasali and their children for sharing time with our congregation in recent days and updating us on their work in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC)!

This past Sunday, the Kasalis offered a Focus on Mission testimony during worship, speaking about the challenges of ministry in an active conflict zone. They also joined us for our 2nd Sunday Prayer for Mission Partners and an evening of dessert and conversation with congregants on Monday. To round out their time with us, the whole family visited Camp Discover, our weeklong program for rising fourth- through sixth-graders, where they spoke with children about their ministry and visits with Blacknall ministry partners.

During their visit to Durham, the Kasalis joined congregants for an evening of dessert and conversation.

The Kasalis have served in the DRC since 2008, focusing their ministry on trauma healing, mental health, and substance abuse recovery. Noé has been instrumental in founding the Kivu Care counseling center in Goma and the Bethesda Counseling Center in in Beni, in partnership with Deep Common Journeypartner Congo Initiative.

You can continue to support the Kasalis in prayer. Here's a prayer request they shared with our congregation: "Pray for the people we serve who need trauma care, substance addiction support, and mentoring in their faith. Pray that God will heal the hurting in the DRC and bring restoration to the country. Pray for grace and strength as we serve."
