Blacknall Arts, our community of in-house songwriters and musicians, has released its latest single from the forthcoming album, “From the Dead.” The song, “Out of No Way” is now available to stream on Spotify, Apple Music, and other platforms.
The song centers on a compelling message: God makes the impossible possible. It traces that theme from the parting of the Red Sea in Exodus through sweeping biblical narratives to Jesus’ death and resurrection. In each story, God makes a way out of no way.
Liner notes about “Out of No Way” by co-writer Wen Reagan
I started with a melody and a line: “Out of no way, you make a way.” I knew I wanted the song to explore the water imagery of the Bible, but I wasn’t sure how it would take shape. So, I sat down with Sarah Lapp and Warren Gould to see where the song needed to go and to expand on the idea that even when there’s no way out, that’s not the end.
The Israelites had their backs to the sea, and Pharaoh’s army was coming to overtake them. But that’s precisely where God makes a way — through, not around, the impossibility. The same is true for Jesus’ death. We can’t cheat death. There’s no way out. Yet on the cross, God makes a way. It’s a way through a river too deep, a way through a tomb too powerful. Through death to life.

About “From the Dead”
With songs of praise, reflection, and adoration, a new album from Blacknall Arts is set to celebrate the heart of the Christian story: Jesus Christ is risen, and new life is breaking through. The collection includes original works, hymn retunes, and even a classic Wendell Berry poem set to music. Across its rich variety, one theme resounds: Christ is the firstfruits from the dead, and we are drawn with him into new life. From the Dead will release on June 3.
