The Kindness of God and Human Kindness
Ruth tells the story of a widow, a foreigner, and a farmer living in chaotic times. Unlike other parts of the Bible, Ruth never directly tells us that God has intervened or acted. Yet through acts of human kindness, we see the persistent kindness of God.
Ruth reminds us that our stories — including the ordinary, unfortunate, and heartbreaking moments — are part of God's story. Our beginning is in God, our end is in Christ, and we can trust in the Lord's kindness as we persist through the messy middle.
