The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for central North Carolina from Friday, Jan. 30, at 4 p.m. through Sunday, Feb. 1, at 1 p.m. Current forecasts show snow accumulations could range from 4 - 7 inches with occasional wind gusts up to 30 mph. There is also an extreme cold watch with wind chills as low as -5 degrees early Sunday morning.
This weekend’s weather will impact regularly scheduled services and programs on Sunday:
Our 8:30 a.m. Sunday service is cancelled due to hazardous winter conditions.
We are also canceling 10 a.m. Sunday School classes and evening programs.
Our annual bake sale hosted by our 4th and 5th grade girls is postponed to Sunday, Feb. 8.
We currently plan to hold an in-person service at 11 a.m. in our Sanctuary. Childcare will not be available.
Because some roads are still icy after last weekend's winter storm and will be affected by this weekend’s snowfall, you're encouraged to tune into our livestream which can be viewed on our website or YouTube page. If you choose to travel to Blacknall, please use extra caution whether you’re walking or driving.

Update: 7:40 a.m., Friday, Jan. 30
A winter storm warning is now in effect for central North Carolina beginning at 4 p.m. this afternoon. Heavy snow is expected to accumulate through the weekend, with totals between 4 - 7 inches. Dangerous cold is also expected late Saturday and into Sunday morning.
Update: 7:50 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 29
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for counties across central North Carolina from Friday afternoon through Sunday afternoon. Current forecasts show snow accumulations could range between 5 - 8 inches with occasional wind gusts up to 35 mph.
Update: 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 28
Current weekend forecasts call for "light, measurable snow" between Friday night and Sunday morning. Total amounts aren't forecast yet.
Update: 12 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 27
The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for central North Carolina for the remainder of this week. Along with prolonged periods of dangerously cold temperatures, current forecasts suggest wintry precipitation could accumulate this weekend. We'll provide updates via email and on our homepage if Sunday services or programs are impacted.

We plan to hold an in-person service at 11 a.m. this morning. Our 8:30 a.m. service is cancelled. If you choose to travel to Blacknall, please use extra caution since roads and sidewalks may be slick with ice. A livestream is planned and can be viewed on our website and YouTube page.
Update: 9 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 24
Durham County is in a winter storm warning, which will remain in effect form 7 p.m. this evening to 1 p.m. Monday. Mixed precipitation of sleet and freezing rain is expected, with ice accumulations up to a half-inch. The National Weather Service recommends delaying unnecessary travel by roads — drive with caution if you need to leave your home.

Current forecasts from the National Weather Service (NWS) call for the likelihood of heavy, mixed precipitation. Total snow and sleet accumulations between Saturday afternoon and Monday afternoon are estimated to be up to 3 inches. NWS expects ice accumulations between one quarter and three quarters of an inch.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch from Saturday afternoon through Monday afternoon for central North Carolina. Confidence is increasing in widespread snow, sleet, and freezing rain.
