Love and Trust in Healthcare: Navigating and Responding to Moral Injury

  • Fellowship Hall, Blacknall 1902 Perry Street Durham, NC, 27705 (map)

All health care professionals are invited to join a conversation exploring the idea of “moral injury,” the tension that can arise when doctors, nurses and other providers work in systems that don’t always reflect the love and care of God.

On Wednesday, May 6, join our Blacknall Health Care Workers group for an event with member Warren Kinghorn, a psychiatrist at Duke Divinity School and the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Duke University Medical Center.

Love and Trust in Health Care: Navigating and Responding to Moral Injury” will consider the meaning and nature of moral injury, first described among combat veterans and later among health care workers. The conversation will take place from 7 - 8:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall, and explore how a Christian faith can help prevent and heal moral injury.

You can RSVP for the gathering on Church Center. Email Frauke Schaefer with questions.
