Families Moving Forward (FMF), a Blacknall Deep Common Journey partner, is hosting its annual “Rock the Block” day of service on Saturday, May 6. Volunteers will come to 300 N. Queen St. to help renovate and beautify the property for families who call this place home.
We are looking for at least 10 people to join the Blacknall team of people rolling up their sleeves to work on staining the fence on the FMF property. Blacknall volunteers will work between 9 - 11:30 a.m. but are welcome to stick around for all the festivities. Rock the Block will have live music by Red Nucleus and Dex and the Half Tones, lunch provided by Southern Harvest Catering, and lawn games for everyone to enjoy. Volunteers must be 18 years or older, but everyone is welcome to attend.
This is a great chance to love and serve your Durham neighbors who are experiencing a temporary crisis of homelessness. Please sign up if you want to volunteer. Volunteers can choose to bring/donate paint brushes, but it is not required. If you have questions, please contact Blacknall member Anne Paulson.
