Host Marc Asobee (UCBC) for Dinner

Marc Asobee, a faculty member at UCBC (the Christian Bilingual University of Congo), will be visiting Blacknall August 13-20. Would you be willing to host Marc for a meal with your family, friends, or small group during that week? It is a great way to learn more about our Deep Common Journey with Congo Initiative and be blessed by Marc.

Marc Asobee is an educator with strong passion and focus on youth empowerment and leadership development. He currently serves as the Acting Coordinator of the School of Leadership and the Leader of the BBI Mentorship Program at the Christian Bilingual University of Congo (UCBC), in Beni, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Through this unique program, students receive holistic support that can help them become more resilient, responsible, and realize their dreams for personal and societal benefit.

His current project focuses on expanding the mentorship program beyond the University by establishing the NYOTA Leadership Center supporting youth leadership and development in the wider community of Beni and beyond through: capacity building, civic engagement, and recognition of exemplary leaders. He is committed to helping youth discover, develop, and release their full potential to change the narrative in their communities.

Marc’s remarkable research articles (which critically discuss leadership and development needs of young African leaders in the current changing and challenging global business context) have been internationally recognized and he was presented with the Exemplary Performance in Research and Publication award from the International Leadership University, Kenya in 2022.

In 2023, his efforts towards youth empowerment and leadership development were also recognized by the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young Leaders Initiative, granting him the opportunity to participate in an amazing academic and professional development training in the field of Leadership and Civic Engagement at the University of Delaware, Newark.

Marc holds a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership from the International Leadership University in Nairobi, Kenya. He is also seeking opportunities to pursue PhD studies focused on leadership, with a specialization in Higher Education, to enhance his teaching and efforts for youth empowerment and leadership development in a post-conflict country, such as the DRC.
