Brandon has a B.A. in Computer Science and Philosophy from Wake Forest, an M.Div. from Duke, and four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (chaplaincy training) from both UNC and Duke. He was commissioned by the United Methodist Church as a Deacon toward the ministry of Word, Service, Compassion, and Justice and served as an Associate Pastor for Children and Youth at Christ United Methodist Church in Chapel Hill. Brandon married Meredith in 2016, and they have a two-year-old son named Jesse
Brandon brings to this role a passion for encouraging children to encounter God through Scripture. His role at Christ United Methodist gave him a breadth of experience across all facets of the Blacknall job description. He is excited to listen to what is working well at Blacknall and expresses a desire to think creatively about how best to meet the needs of our community. Brandon believes that the home is the place of primary spiritual formation and looks forward to supporting families as they raise their children to follow Christ. He has a vision for an inclusive worship experience for children and adults of all abilities and a desire to engage kids in service to one another and alongside our ministry partners. His love for his work and his joy in fostering the spiritual growth of children is infectious.
Brandon brings remarkable professional talent and creativity, relational insight, and an excitement about getting to know our kids and families. We cannot wait for you to meet Brandon and for him to begin working at Blacknall in mid-January!
