Application Deadline is April 15 to Join the Pilgrimage of Pain and Hope

The Durham Ministry Engagement Team (DMET) is looking to fill seven slots for a June 3-5, 2022 pilgrimage with a diverse composition of Blacknall people who will join seven people from St. John's Missionary Baptist Church and seven from Mt. Level Missionary Baptist Church.

The cost of the entire experience is $25; Blacknall is subsidizing most of the cost for all three congregations. Because spaces are limited (St. John's already has a waiting list!), we are requesting applications for seriously inquiring Blacknall folks by April 15. DMET will review applications to create a group that represents a range of life experiences and backgrounds at Blacknall.

If selected, Blacknall applicants will need to commit to participating in all parts of the weekend: Friday, June 3, 3 -8 p.m.; Saturday, June 4, 8:30 a.m. - 8 p.m.; and Sunday, June 5, 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. Participants are also expected to attend one preliminary meeting and one follow-up meeting. We will also use interest in this opportunity to plan for future pilgrimages and Durham history educational events.

Please contact Lauren Holahan with any questions or concerns. For more information about the pilgrimage, please see the events page.
