Oh come, let us worship and bow down;
Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.7 For He is our God,
And we are the people of His pasture,
And the sheep of His hand. (Psalm 95:6-7)
Song | Come, All Ye Pining, Hungry Poor
Lord, we adore Thy boundless grace,
The heights and depths unknown,
Of pardon, life, and joy, and peace,
In Thy beloved Son.
Come, all ye pining, hungry poor,
The Savior’s bounty taste;
Behold a never-failing store
For ev’ry willing guest.
O wondrous gifts of love divine,
Dear Source of ev’ry good;
Jesus, in Thee what glories shine!
How rich Thy flowing blood!
Here shall your num’rous wants receive
A free, a full supply;
He has unmeasured bliss to give,
And joys that never die.

Scripture Reading | Isaiah 55:1-5
“Come, all you who are thirsty,
come to the waters;
and you who have no money,
come, buy and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk
without money and without cost.2 Why spend money on what is not bread,
and your labor on what does not satisfy?
Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good,
and you will delight in the richest of fare.3 Give ear and come to me;
listen, that you may live.
I will make an everlasting covenant with you,
my faithful love promised to David.4 See, I have made him a witness to the peoples,
a ruler and commander of the peoples.5 Surely you will summon nations you know not,
and nations you do not know will come running to you,
because of the Lord your God,
the Holy One of Israel,
for he has endowed you with splendor.”
Song | Before the Throne of God Above
Before the throne of God above
I have a strong, a perfect plea:
A Great High Priest, whose name is Love,
who ever lives and pleads for me.
My name is written on His hands,
my name is hidden in His heart;
I know that while in heaven He stands
no power can force me to depart,
No power can force me to depart.
When Satan tempts me to despair
and tells me of the guilt within,
Upward I look, and see Him there
who made an end of all my sin.
Because the sinless Savior died,
my sinful soul is counted free;
For God, the just is satisfied
to look on Him and pardon me,
To look on Him and pardon me.
Behold Him there! The risen Lamb,
my perfect, sinless Righteousness,
The great unchangeable I AM,
the King of glory and of grace!
One with my Lord I cannot die;
my soul is purchased by His blood,
My life is safe with Christ on high,
with Christ, my Savior and my God,
With Christ, my Savior and my God.

Prayers of Confession
Seek the Lord while he may be found;
call on him while he is near.7 Let the wicked forsake their ways
and the unrighteous their thoughts.
Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them,
and to our God, for he will freely pardon.
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord. (Is 55:6-8)
Come, let us confess our sins.
Lord, show us another way.
Your thoughts towards us are love; we are too small-minded to think of our neighbors.
Your ways lead to life; our ways value some lives.
Have mercy on us, Lord:
We have diminished ourselves, disregarded our neighbors, and dishonored you.
But in the death and resurrection of Jesus, you have opened a new way.
By your Holy Spirit, lead us on the path that leads to life.
We ask in Jesus' name, Amen.
Assurance of Pardon
Friends, it is true!
In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. May the peace of Christ be with you.
Passing the Peace
Text, email, or call a friend and extend the love of Christ to them.
Affirmation of Faith | Apostles Creed
We believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
Children’s Blessing
1 Corinthians 15:54-55
Death has been swallowed up in victory.
Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?
Proclamation of the Word | David Dunderdale
1 Corinthians 15:1-11
Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve. 6 After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8 and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.
9 For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 11 Whether, then, it is I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed.
Song of Response | How Great Thou Art
O Lord, my God! When I in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.
Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee:
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
And when I think that God His Son not sparing,
Sent Him to die; I scarce can take it in,
That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.
When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation,
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart!
Then I shall bow in humble adoration
And there proclaim, my God, how great Thou art!
Swedish Hymn “O Store Gud”; English words by Stuart Hine, 1949.

Prayers of Thanksgiving and Intercession
We praise you, Risen Lord. You appeared to your friends and followers and to Paul, and so we pray for eyes to recognize you in our midst.
As you did in the first century, Holy Spirit, build your church. We pray that through the church, your love, wisdom and power is evident. Unite the church under you, our foundation. Give us the faith and the will to follow as you lead us into this week.
Thank you for the ministry of Pastor Daniels at St. John's and for the Walltown Neighborhood Ministries foodbank, who love and serve and invite us into that with them.
Give answer as we pray: Lord, have mercy.
For our mayor, governor, president and lawmakers, that they would use their authority to safeguard the well-being and dignity of everyone, especially those most vulnerable at this time. Lord, have mercy.
For all those who lack food, shelter, and are in situations that are unsafe, bring help. Release compassion among those who can help. Lord, have mercy.
For those who work and reside in places with limited resources for safe practices (nursing homes, military facilities, prisons), make a way to be as just as possible. Lord, have mercy.
For those who are sick and alone (especially ______________________), may they know your healing, comfort and care. Lord, have mercy.
For those adults and children who are in need or in situations that are unsafe. We pray for provision, friendship, and help. Lord, have mercy.
For those who provide care (especially __________________), give them strength, courage, and rest. Lord, have mercy.
For those who are grieving (especially ____________________), may they lament and receive comfort in your love. Lord, have mercy.
For the church, that our willingness to love others in your name would bring hope to our world. Lord, have mercy.
Let us pray as Jesus taught us: Our Father...
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors;
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever.
Amen.
Benediction
Song | Lavish Love, Abundant Beauty
We are Yours, Eternal Father, off’ring body, mind and heart.
Take and use us to Your glory, form Yourself in every part.
Lord, Your love brings joy and gladness flowing forth within our soul –
May our very breath and being rise to You, their source and goal.
Words by Peter Ellis, 1986. Tune “Beach Spring”
