INVOCATION
Bless the Lord, O my soul And all that is within me,
Bless His holy name!
Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits
Bless His holy name!
Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,
Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Bless His holy name!
(Psalm 103:1-5)
Song | “10,000 Reasons”
Bless the Lord, O my soul, O my soul,
Worship His holy name.
Sing like never before, O my soul;
I’ll worship Your holy name!
The sun comes up, it’s a new day dawning,
It’s time to sing Your song again.
Whatever may pass, and whatever lies before me,
Let me be singing when the evening comes.
You’re rich in love and You’re slow to anger;
Your name is great and Your heart is kind.
For all Your goodness, I will keep on singing;
Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find.
And on that day, when my strength is failing,
The end draws near, and my time has come;
Still, my soul will sing Your praise unending
Ten thousand years, and then forevermore!

Scripture Reading | Hosea 11:1-11
When Israel was a child, I loved him,
and out of Egypt I called my son.
But the more they were called,
the more they went away from me.
They sacrificed to the Baals
and they burned incense to images.
It was I who taught Ephraim to walk,
taking them by the arms;
but they did not realize
it was I who healed them.
I led them with cords of human kindness,
with ties of love.
To them I was like one who lifts
a little child to the cheek,
and I bent down to feed them.
“Will they not return to Egypt
and will not Assyria rule over them
because they refuse to repent?
A sword will flash in their cities;
it will devour their false prophets
and put an end to their plans.
My people are determined to turn from me.
Even though they call me God Most High,
I will by no means exalt them.
“How can I give you up, Ephraim?
How can I hand you over, Israel?
How can I treat you like Admah?
How can I make you like Zeboyim?
My heart is changed within me;
all my compassion is aroused.
I will not carry out my fierce anger,
nor will I devastate Ephraim again.
For I am God, and not a man—
the Holy One among you.
I will not come against their cities.
They will follow the Lord;
he will roar like a lion.
When he roars,
his children will come trembling from the west.
They will come from Egypt,
trembling like sparrows,
from Assyria, fluttering like doves.
I will settle them in their homes,”
declares the Lord.
Song | “Great is Thy Faithfulness”
Great is Thy faithfulness, O God, my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee.
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not --
As Thou hast been, Thou forever wilt be.
Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning, new mercies I see.
All I have needed, Thy hand hath provided --
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me.
Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy, and love.
Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow --
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

Call to Confession
God is faithful even when we are unfaithful: Israel turned from the Lord, but God called them home. We tried to kill the Son of God, but Christ willingly gave his life for us. Because of God’s steadfast love and faithfulness, we are free to confess our sins.
Prayer of Confession
You have led us with cords of kindness, Lord, but we have wandered far from you. By Your Holy Spirit, help us to repent: Show us ourselves as wayward children, and make us want to be home. Teach us to love what you love and hate what you hate. We ask as sons and daughters, claimed by the blood of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Assurance of Pardon
When we are faithless, God is faithful. In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven.
Passing the Peace
May the peace of the Lord be with you.
Response: And also with you
Affirmation of Faith | Apostles Creed
We believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

Proclamation of the Word | David Dunderdale
Matthew 6:5-15
“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
9 “This, then, is how you should pray:
“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.’
14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
Song of Response | “My Worth Is Not in What I Own”
My worth is not in what I own, not in the strength of flesh and bone.
But in the costly wounds of love at the cross.
My worth is not in skill or name, in win or lose, in pride or shame.
But in the blood of Christ that flowed at the cross.
I rejoice in my Redeemer, greatest treasure, well-spring of my soul.
I will trust in Him, no other; my soul is satisfied in Him alone.
Two wonders here that I confess: My worth, and my unworthiness.
My value fixed, my ransom paid at the cross.

Prayers of Thanksgiving & Intercession | Prayer Requests
We praise you Father. You know us, and you go looking for us, though we seem determined to turn from you. In this time of great pain in our country and in the world, help us have the courage to look at the pain with you instead of turning away. Thank you, Lord, that you do not turn away from us. As your children, help us to grow up in every way to love as you have loved us. Help us forgive one another as quickly and thoroughly as Christ forgave us.
Holy Spirit, as you lead, may we obey willingly, for your ways are trustworthy and true.
Give answer as we pray: Lord, have mercy.
For all public servants and civic leaders, that they would use their authority to safeguard the well-being and dignity of all. Lord, have mercy.
For those who are sick and alone (especially ______________________), may they know your healing, comfort and care. Lord, have mercy.
For those who provide care (especially __________________), give them strength, courage, and rest. Lord, have mercy.
For those who are grieving (especially ____________________), may they lament and receive your hope.. Lord, have mercy.
For the church, that our willingness to love others as neighbors would witness to your love and power in us. Lord, have mercy.
Let us pray as Jesus taught us: Our Father...
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors;
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever.
Amen.
Benediction
Song | “Spirit of Heaven”
Oh, Spirit of God, come down,
Let mercy and grace abound;
My passionate prayer shall be:
Christ in me.
