Come with us to the mountains!
We're gathering at Valle Crucis Conference Center near Boone for a weekend of worship, fellowship, and teaching with Mary Vandel Young. Mary is the Executive Director of JourneyMates, a Christian soul care ministry in Raleigh, and she's a dear friend to several Blacknall women.
The central question we'll explore together: “How then shall we live?” Jesus' invitation is simple: "Come, follow me." But living that way in our ordinary, beautifully complicated lives is the real work. Over three sessions, we'll explore what it means to follow Jesus as women who are beloved, made in God's image, held by his steadfast love, and called to be available to God, to ourselves, and to the people and causes he's placed in our care. As we slow down together, we hope to hear his question more clearly: “How then shall you live?”
When: Friday at 4 p.m. through Sunday morning worship.
Cost: $195 covers two nights and all meals. We want all women to attend regardless of financial situation — reduced registration is available.
Lodging: Rooms are provided as part of your registration. You may also choose to stay at the Hermitages, Valle Crucis’s four small cabins farther up the mountain (three miles up very curvy roads). Each cabin has a queen bed and a pull-out sofa. Registration is limited to one person per cabin ($200). If you'd like to share a cabin with one or two others, let us know when you register.
Other nearby lodging: Consider staying in a local B&B like The Taylor House Inn (next door), The Mast Farm Inn (near the Mast General Store) or any number of Airbnbs or hotels in Boone or Blowing Rock. If you stay off-campus, choose the “Meals Only” registration option of $85.
