You can help international graduate students who are new to Durham by donating gently-used and new items for a housewares giveaway event on Saturday, Aug. 8, from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall and Upper Atrium.
Organized by Deep Common Journey partner International Students, Inc. (ISI), the event provides newly arrived students with kitchen items for food preparation, cooking, and eating, as well as bed linens, lamps, and other household essentials.
A full list of needed items is available on the ISI event page.
If you don't have anything to donate but would still like to contribute, you can purchase items through ISI's Amazon and Walmart wish lists.
In addition to donating, you can volunteer to help set up and organize items or drive students home with their selections.
Items can be dropped off at Blacknall between 5 - 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, or 8 - 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8. Email Ginger Ehmann with questions.
