Join the Blacknall Film Collective on Saturday, Feb. 7, for a screening of “Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery,” 2025’s top-ranked film by Arts & Faith online community. Showtime is 6:30 p.m. in south Durham — bring snacks if you plan to come!
Directed by Rian Johnson ("Knives Out" series, "Poker Face," "Star Wars: Episode VIII — The Last Jedi"), the movie follows Father Jud Duplenticy (Josh O'Connor), who’s assigned as assistant pastor to the antagonizing Monsignor Jefferson Wicks (Josh Brolin). When Wicks turns up dead, detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) is assigned to discover which one of his loyal congregants committed the foul deed. This third film in the Knives Out series holds surprising depths about the nature of forgiveness, grace, and compassion.
A discussion will follow on Saturday, March 28. If you can't attend the group screening, you can still watch the movie on your own on Netflix and join the discussion. For location details and to RSVP, join the Film Collective on Church Center. Email Lindsey Dunn with any questions.
