Our generation is not the first to face hard questions about how to stay faithful in turbulent times. In light of our current cultural moment and also Blacknall’s ongoing work of discernment amidst pastoral transition, it seems an opportune time to re-connect with our history. In this class, we'll invite a conversation with Blacknall members of the past, using when possible their own testimony.
We'll make a particular effort to listen for both the common themes that have shaped our history and the voices that are not so well remembered—ranging from the Blacknall family itself to the millworkers, students, and people of color who also have come through our doors. Throughout it all, we will seek to hear and respond to the word and work of the Lord discerned amidst these stories.
Hosted by the 30s, 40s, & Friends class, this class is open to the entire church. We’re hoping for lots of folks in the “Friends” category!
