Kat Burgett
Director of Youth Ministries
Kat moved to Durham from Southern California to attend Duke Divinity School in 2012. She visited Blacknall her second week in town and never left.* Kat loves Blacknall for being a warm Christian community that prays, worships, and thinks deeply and charitably. She especially loves spending time with Blacknall's engaged and welcoming youth: studying the Bible together, talking about questions of faith, and playing the games they come up with (anything but "Cheese State," please). Kat is always up for a conversation over coffee, so don't hesitate to reach out!
Kat holds an M.Div. and a Ph.D. in New Testament from Duke, where she has also taught classes in Greek and New Testament Exegesis. She's currently in the ordination process in the PC(USA). When she's not with the youth, you can find Kat reading in a coffee shop, singing on the worship team, or exploring Durham with friends.
