Sunday Worship

Welcome to Blacknall Memorial Presbyterian Church! Sunday worship is the heart of our life at Blacknall. Every Sunday we gather to celebrate Jesus Christ as our Lord. Our 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. services include many elements of a traditional Christian liturgy, such as confession and weekly communion by intinction (bread dipped in a communal cup). There is also a time of informal sharing and prayer.

In-Person & Livestream Worship

Join us for in-person worship at 11 a.m. The service will be livestreamed. No 8:30 a.m. service this weekend. The regular service schedule will resume on January 5.

Children’s Worship

No Sunday School or childcare this Sunday. Childcare will resume for the January 5 service. Learn more about childcare & Children’s Ministry at Blacknall.

Sunday School (10 a.m.)

No Sunday School. The spring semester starts on Sunday, January 12.

World

  • With the upcoming government transitions, we lift up our country, state, city, and church in our individual and corporate prayer times. We seek wisdom, discernment, and the peace of our nation.

  • We pray for those affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton, that they would be cared for and encouraged in the hard work of recovery and rebuilding.

  • We pray for the people of Israel, Palestine, and Lebanon and for a stop to the continuing cycles of violence. We pray especially that those who are most vulnerable would be protected from harm.

  • We pray for the people of Ukraine and that they would be set free from the Russian aggression.

  • We pray for our president and other world leaders that they would make decisions that are right and that would make for peace and justice.

Life Together

  • We pray for our worship services on Christmas Eve, that we would all experience the joy and wonder of God taking on flesh in the person of Jesus Christ.

  • We pray for all who are traveling in this season for safe travels. We pray for families as they gather that they would be strengthened in their love and care for one another. We pray for any who would be alone for Christmas, that they would be remembered and they would know the Lord’s nearness.

  • We thank God and pray for our Children’s Ministry staff, Brandon Miller and Leslie Petree. Pray for their leadership and vision for Sunday School, Nursery, and Children’s Worship and all our efforts to help kids get to know God and His love for them.

  • We pray for our Officer Nominating Committee as they seek the Lord’s leading on the people to nominate to serve our congregation as elders and deacons. Please pray for Elizabeth Brill, Doug Busch, Hannah King, Tanya Kronstad, Sam Poole, Stephanie Wheatley (chair), Cullen Rodgers-Gates (vice chair), and Rachel Stine (Deacon rep), along with Goodie Bell and David Dunderdale (Pastors, ex officio).

  • We pray for our search for a new Communications Director. Please pray for the search committee: Lucy Dunderdale Cate (chair), Mindy Lance, Trig Steinbrenner, Tom Taylor, and Faith Weiskirch.
