Small groups are a great way to develop more intimate relationships within the Blacknall community. A variety of mens, womens, and co-gender groups meet in people’s homes throughout the area to pray, study Scripture, worship, and fellowship together. Each group is different and free to design itself in a way that best meets its members’ needs. Small group sign-ups will begin on Aug. 24th in the atrium. Groups generally begin meeting mid to late September. Some may choose to start later (i.e., after Table Talk or in the new year). Table Talk will provide groups an optional opportunity to meet at the church with childcare provided. If you’re interested in joining or possibly leading a new group this fall, contact the Small Groups Ministry Team by emailing smallgroups@blacknall.org, calling Melissa Hartemink (416-8458), or visiting our website. We’d love to help get you connected!

Blacknall is beginning a new tradition on Communion Sundays starting July 6. As a way to prepare thankful hearts for worship, we ask you to bring a non-perishable food item and place it in the basket outside the sanctuary. We will donate the food to the food bank where it will be distributed to organizations like Urban Ministries and Durham Rescue Mission. As we feed on the body of Christ, who is God’s exceedingly gracious and abundant gift, may this abundance spill forth from our lives, responding to Christ’s calling to care for the “least of these.”

The Blacknall Audio Team is looking for a few good men & women - helpers are needed to run the sound system. Is it your turn at BAT? Speak to Dave Stuntz.

“In Godly Play, you are invited to play, not just in general, but play with the language of God and God’s people:  our sacred stories, parables, liturgical actions, and silences.  Through this powerful language, through our wondering, through the community of players gathered together, we hear the deepest invitation of all:  an invitation to come play with God.”  We are currently recruiting new volunteers to be a part of our Godly Play ministry to children.  We use this method for Sunday School, Children’s Church, and Junior Church.  If you would like to know more, please contact Beth Solie or Traci Hoover.
