Lenten Discipleship Groups

lenten study slideWhat: Lenten Discipleship Groups are short-term small groups that aim to help us deepen our walk with Christ in gatherings for sharing, study, and prayer. Since they occur during Lent, a six-week period of preparation for Easter, these groups also aim to help us become people who are better able to respond to God’s boundless love for us.

When: Groups will gather at Blacknall for six weeks on Thursdays at 12-1 p.m. and 7-8 p.m.

Meeting details: Groups will gather to share, study, and pray together. A facilitator will lead a discussion of a simple curriculum. Our study will focus on five of the parables that Jesus taught while making his own journey toward the events of Good Friday and Easter. Childcare will be available.

How do I sign up? Let us know what time you can attend a group by adding your information to this online form, emailing our small groups ministry team, or calling Chris Blumhofer (630.805.1497).

Many of our already-existing small groups plan to follow this study. If one of those time slots does not work, we encourage you to gather some friends in your neighborhood or at your work or school, and start your own group! The curriculum will be available to all.

Curriculum: Week One; Week Two; Week Three, Week Four; Week Five; Week Six

Alpha Marriage Class

Thursdays, January 21-March 3, 6-8:30 p.m., Fellowship Hall

Blacknall, in partnership with International Students, Inc. (ISI), is sponsoring a Marriage Alpha course. The course is set in an intimate atmosphere where each couple shares a candlelit meal and responds together to practical talks that are informative and fun.

The course will be limited to 20 couples, half from ISI and half from Blacknall. We are encouraging Blacknall to bring a couple from outside Blacknall with them.

Questions? Contact: Scott Hawkins, Joyce Kight, or David Dunderdale.
