Summer 2016 – Registration Coming Soon!
Girls Discovery Week
Grades 3-5 | June 27-30 | 9-3 p.m.
The girls begin their day together in Bible study and worship and then launch into a day of adventure and discovery led by different women from our church. There may be horseback riding, swimming, hiking, camping, creating, and storytelling. Every day is different and provides an opportunity to try something new that will challenge her and help her to grow spiritually. Contact: Traci Hoover.
Boys Discovery Days
Grades 3-5 | June 14, 23, July 12, 26, August 16 | 5-9 p.m.
This summer we look forward to offering afternoon and evenings of adventure for our boys. They will have opportunities to fish, hike, camp, bake, make, and fellowship with one another led on their adventures by different men from our congregation. Each evening will include a serious consideration of scripture and how it relates to their lives. Contact: Traci Hoover.
Family Fun Nights
June 17, July 15, August 12
Everyone is invited to come to the church for a low-key evening of popcorn and movies or snacks and games. The Fellowship Hall will be open for families to gather and talk, play games, watch a movie, and enjoy some summertime snacks. Contact: Beth Solie.
Backyard Bible Adventures
Join Blacknall families as they invite neighbors and friends to come to two hours of fun and adventure discovering how Jesus gathers us together. Children from different parts of the city will be invited to join Blacknall children and leaders in their neighborhoods. Our time together will be filled with singing, scripture memory, crafts, games and fun. This is a great opportunity for all of us to participate in neighborhood outreach and loving our children from Blacknall and beyond. After each gathering there will be opportunity for follow through with neighborhood families later in the week at a cookout or ice cream social.
Summer Story Stations
Sundays beginning June 5, Sunday School hour
Discover how to create, play, listen, pray, imagine, and dance with the stories of the Old Testament. Taste and see what God was up to with his covenant people in the years after they arrived in Canaan. Participating with our Story Stations guarantees that you will walk away with something to talk further about with a child or another friend. The table is set for meaningful conversation to happen outside of the church walls: Why did it happen that way? How was God present in that? How long did it take to walk to Babylon? And what was it like to be in the belly of a whale?
The Thursday morning Women’s Bible Study group transforms into a playgroup on Thursday mornings in the summer, and welcomes all to come and join them! Each Thursday someone “hosts” at a park, pool, backyard, driveway, or playground for the morning. Participants bring their own children, sunscreen, and snacks, and enjoy time together while the children play. A fun low-key way to invite new families into fellowship. Look for a sign-up sheet to host coming in April and if you would like to host a Thursday morning or two, contact Beth Solie.
